Doug had the privilege of growing up on the mission field. His parents, Bob and Betty Stamper, are still serving in Kenya today. “I always thought that it was so unfair that others had to grow up in America. I thank God for the opportunities that I have had while growing up in Africa. While we were in Ethiopia, I had my own horse - what other kids get that opportunity.”
Doug completed high school as a home school student, then returned to the USA for college. He attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO and graduated with a bachelors degree in Bible and Missions in May 1988.
Donna also had the opportunity to spend time overseas in her childhood years. Her Father was in the US Air Force, and the family were able to join him in the Philippines for 2 years. Donna always enjoyed the rains, and the lizards (she didn’t get away from them in Kenya).
Donna completed high school in Milford, DE, then moved to Springfield, MO, enrolling in Baptist Bible College. She graduated in 1988 with a diploma, a wedding ring, a toddler, and a newborn baby girl.
Doug and Donna met at the Park Crest Baptist Church in Springfield, MO, and it was “NOT” love at first sight, but God had other plans for them. They soon fell in love, and were married after a 1 year engagement. The first three years of their life together were busy, with honeymoon, adjustments, Mary’s birth, class, work, Martha’s birth, interviews, work, exams, and finally graduation.
In 1988, the Stampers went to Franklin, IN, to serve their internship at the First Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. In May 1990, they were approved as missionaries with the Baptist Bible Fellowship International, and have been on the field of Kenya, East Africa since 23 June 1992. They are sent out by the First Baptist Church of Milford, DE where David Perdue and the members are 100% behind them.
“The work has not always been easy, fun, or productive, but it has always been His Work In Us. Pray for us as we continue the work that God has given us to do as we ‘stamp the gospel of Jesus Christ into the Heart of KENYA.’”
